Actors Gearing Up for Library Fundraiser
Wow, Cunningham! This little town has really shown up in the month of October to support worthy causes. The Cunningham Public Library aims to keep up the momentum with its fall fundraiser on Sun., Nov. 3rd, at the Community Center. There will be a delicious meal served, prepared by Wayne and Rogene Jarmer. Serving begins at 11:30 and continues until 1:00. Following the meal, there will be a production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.” Adapted by Joe Landry and produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com), the play follows the beloved movie fairly closely as local actors play multiple roles to bring the story to life. This shortened version is appropriate for all ages and should last less than an hour. A special treat will be live accompaniment by Cindy Panek. Cost for the meal and the play is a free-will donation.
Up for raffle will be a beautiful quilted Christmas tree wall hanging now on display at the library (pictured right), donated by Jane Meyers (this will be one of the raffle prizes instead of a sealed bid auction item, as previously announced). Also being raffled are two baskets, one fall-themed by Rogene Jarmer and one Christmas-themed by Jana Theis. There will be other items available as well. Tickets are $1 each or 6/$5 and may be purchased now at the library or from any board member.
Please come enjoy the afternoon and support the library and its programs. Like the town of Bedford Falls, we find that life is pretty wonderful right here in Cunningham!
Pictured above, Cody Dunlap, Mary Stackhouse, Amanda Prim, Nicole Kerschen, Eric Kerschen, and Bob Stackhouse practice for “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.” Also making an appearance, but not pictured are: Dave and Kerri Steffen, John Huffman, and Cindy Panek on piano.
What a bunch of characters! Can you guess which Bedford Falls resident each is portraying?
